This month, along with our mums, we’re celebrating the come back kids of fashion – the pieces that make a comeback in some shape or form every so often.
The denim jacket is just one such example that reappears every few years – it’s like they’re always there, adjusting their style and shape as fashion trends dictate.
Denim jackets are the younger sibling to denim jeans. The story of jeans is one of the humble beginnings and the man behind the fashion staple was Levi Strauss, an immigrant from Bavaria. Levi was a merchant following California’s 1850’s gold rush. He was asked by the miners to make some durable work pants. And so, Levi set to work putting these work pants together. After the success of the working pants, Strauss developed the working blouse, that was the denim jacket in its early state.
A couple of decades later women who worked on ranches and farms began to wear these denim items and so the revolution began…!
Fast forward a hundred and fifty years and denim jackets are still going strong.
Here they are in various shapes on the 2017 runways of Dior, Stella McCartney and Dolce & Gabbana – illustrating that it’s never too late to make a comeback or reinvent yourself!
From plain, to embellished or faded, these Rosella denim jackets will help you do just that and are bound to serve you for years to come if history is anything to go by.
Till next time.
